With no local or national competitions taking place this weekend we take the opportunity to look at the County Leagues.
In the West Area Holmans are confirmed as the area league champions and will represent the area in the Bebbington Cup on Sunday 6th April. Three teams are still at risk of relegation, Foundry (Hayle), An Gof (St Keverne) and Dodos (Penzance).
St Johns (Helston) lead Division One in the West and certain of a promotion place. Redruth are all but certain of the second place but could be caught by Pirates (Penlee).
The Central Area still has four weeks to go with Withiel leading Luxulyan Golds by one point with St Newlyn East a further five points behind.
In the East, Saltash Blues lead Duloe by one point with Landrake a further four points behind. With two weeks remaining Saltash Blues face away matches to Callington Eagles on Monday 17th and Calstock on Monday 24th. Landrake are away to Saltash Kernow this week on Tuesday whilst Duloe host Calstock on Wednesday. Landrake host Duloe on Monday 24th.
Two of the three teams involved in the key matches are in the relegation survival battle with Saltash Kernow three points ahead of Calstock and Saltash Whites a further three points adrift.
In the North Area three teams are still in with a chance of taking the area title, Bobcats (Camelford), Boscastle and Blisland.
The next couple of weeks see’s little in the way of local competition with a busy National calendar. The CCSMBA will be hosting hosting an open practice between 1000 and 1500 on Sunday 23rd February at Carnmoggas.
