Inter County Championship
County Team Manager Luke Jolly will use Saturday’s County Team Practice at Carnmoggas to further evaluate players before confirming the team to face Dorset on Sunday.
After last Sunday’s Trials Jolly commented “Due to the quality of bowls played during the trials I have invited more than the 40 players to the practice day to give further evaluation.”
Premier Team Captain Peter Hore’s thoughts ahead of the new season “I’m looking forward to another year of representing Cornwall and honored to be named Premier Team captain again. We have a promising team this year, with a mixture of experienced players and some new faces and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve.”
Sunday’s match at Carnmoggas gets underway at 1000 with four sessions of play through to around 1600. Spectators are welcome throughout the day.
A new system for providing live scores on Inter County match days has been developed on the CCSMBA website and available here.
The current Inter County format, which has been established for several years, is expected to change after this year. The English Short Mat Bowling Association (ESMBA) has distributed details to counties about a new structure for the 2025/26 season that will eliminate the separate Premier and A Team competitions but will retain a commitment of up to 10 match days over a season.
